These Estimate Policies, Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the services provided by Four Winds Relocation (“Company”) in connection with your household goods move.

1. Entire Agreement

This Agreement, together with your written estimate and Bill of Lading, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Four Winds Relocation regarding the services described. It supersedes all prior discussions, representations, or estimates, whether written or verbal.

In the event of a conflict between this Agreement and the Bill of Lading, the Bill of Lading shall control.

Any modification to this Agreement must be in writing and signed by both parties.

2. Assignment & Third-Party Rights

This Agreement may not be assigned without the prior written consent of Four Winds Relocation.

Nothing in this Agreement is intended to create rights or remedies for any third party not directly involved in this Agreement, except as required by applicable law.

 

3. Carrier & Broker Disclosure

Four Winds Relocation may operate as:

  • licensed interstate motor carrier, or
  • licensed household goods broker, arranging transportation with an FMCSA-authorized carrier

Your move’s assigned role (carrier or broker) will be clearly identified prior to pickup and on the Bill of Lading.

When acting as a broker, Four Winds Relocation arranges transportation services but does not physically transport household goods. The motor carrier performing the move assumes responsibility for transportation services in accordance with federal law.

4. Binding Estimate & Survey Waiver

You have elected to receive a Binding Not-To-Exceed Estimate based on the inventory and services you provided.

By accepting this estimate, you acknowledge and agree:

  • You declined a physical in-home survey
  • The estimate is based on the accuracy of your disclosed inventory
  • The price will not exceed the estimated amount unless additional items or services are added and agreed to in writing


If additional items, packing, labor, or services are requested, a revised written estimate must be executed prior to performance.

5. Minimum Shipment Requirement

Four Winds Relocation maintains a minimum shipment requirement of 2,000 pounds (or equivalent cubic footage). Shipments below this threshold will be charged at the minimum rate.

6. Services Included & Exclusions

Unless otherwise itemized in your estimate, the quoted price includes:

  • Transportation
  • Loading and unloading
  • Fuel surcharges, tolls, and mileage
  • Standard furniture disassembly and reassembly
  • Up to 75 feet of long carry
  • One flight of stairs at origin and destination


Not included unless specifically listed:

  • Packing or unpacking services
  • Packing materials
  • Appliance disconnection or reconnection
  • Specialty furniture requiring third-party services


Reassembly is subject to tool availability and item condition.

7. Deposits, Scheduling & Changes

A reservation deposit is required to secure scheduling and routing.

  • Date changes or holds must be requested at least 7 business days prior to pickup
  • Deposits are applied toward total charges
  • Deposits may be credited toward a future interstate move within 12 months, subject to availability


Deposit policies comply with applicable federal regulations.

8. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing.

  • Cancellations made within the applicable federal rescission period may be eligible for refund
  • Cancellations after scheduling or routing commitments may result in forfeiture of the reservation deposit
  • Services cannot be canceled once physical moving services have begun

9. Payment Terms

Payment terms will be clearly outlined in your estimate and Bill of Lading.

Subject to federal law:

  • Partial payment may be required prior to loading
  • Remaining balance is due prior to unloading
  • Accepted payment methods will be disclosed in advance


Failure to remit payment may result in the lawful exercise of the carrier’s lien.

10. Claims & Dispute Resolution

All claims for loss or damage must be submitted in writing within the timelines required by federal law.

Four Winds Relocation maintains an FMCSA-compliant arbitration program pursuant to 49 CFR § 375.211.

Arbitration is voluntary and available as an alternative to litigation.

11. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by applicable United States federal law, including the Carmack Amendment, and where not preempted, the laws of the State of Delaware.

Venue shall be determined in accordance with governing federal jurisdiction requirements.

12. Acceptance of Agreement

By signing electronically, verbally authorizing services, or permitting pickup of your household goods, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

13. Acknowledgment

You acknowledge receipt of:

  • A written estimate
  • Payment method disclosures
  • Applicable consumer protection materials


All charges apply only to the services and inventory listed on your estimate.
